General Conference Week!

Hello!

I love that General Conference and Easter are so close together!:)
It's like a month straight of looking forward to my favorite things:)
We have a conference countdown that is getting REALLY small!:)

We got to go to the Women's Session of conference this Saturday and I
loved it! I love the opportunity to hear from our leaders, they love
us so much and you can really feel that love when they speak to us:) I
love the emphasis on service! As a missionary we have the opportunity
to really give all of our time to serving others and I know I won't
have that forever, so I'm grateful for the reminder to give all that I
can to bless others lives while I am here! I loved when they said to
ask the Lord what He wants from you based in your circumstances. We
all have different situations in life and we may not be able to serve
as much as we like, but we always have a little bit of time and means
to serve others! If we seek to serve others, the Lord will be sure to
take care of our needs!:)

I am SO EXCITED for General Conference! And it's such an awesome
opportunity to invite others to hear from a Prophet of God! God is
preparing people to hear the messages this weekend, and He needs us to
help Him make sure they can hear it!:)

Well, I love you all! And a quick miracle before I go:) It was Sunday
night and we still had our goal to share the Easter video 7 times, and
we were only at 2 at 7:30 at night. So we knew we had to do something!
So we decided we were going to walk home instead of taking a bus and
offer it to everybody we came across! And the first person we invited
to watch it said no... I was like, awesome this should be fun haha!
But then the next person said yes, and the next person said yes, and
every person we offered the video to after that first person said they
would like to watch the video! We even shared it in Spanish a couple
times! And each person we shared it with said a very sincere thank
you:) It made me feel good to work so hard to reach our goal because
Heavenly Father was able to put people in our path that He needed us
to bless on Easter:) We ended up sharing the video 9 times on Sunday!
9 people closer to Christ:)

Have a wonderful week!

Happy Easter Week!

We've had a good week here! Sister Spendlove and I have been making a
Facebook post everyday about the last week of the Savior's life, and I
have been so grateful for the opportunity to study about what He did
during His last week in mortality. He went about doing good, He was
still teaching and helping and loving everybody He came across! I know
that if I knew it was the last week of my life I would probably end up
at Disney Land, but He was selfless up until the end!

This time of year I feel like everybody is closer to the Savior, and I
love that feeling! But I want to be able to feel that all the time, I
want to be this reverent about His sacrifice for all of us everyday of
the year! But the week before Easter is a good place to start!:) It's
a good time for miracles to take place!

Our zone made a new goal to share the Hallelujah video 7 times a day,
and my jaw hit the floor when I heard that. Our goal had previously
been 2, obviously we needed to step up our game! And that put us out
of our comfort zone a lot this week, but I have seen some of the
biggest miracles come from doing things I am the most uncomfortable
doing!

Miracles!

We were about to head home one night and we had only shared the video
4 times and we were getting a little nervous about it! But we knew
that we had asked Heavenly Father to give us 7 opportunities, so we
were going to get 7 opportunities! So we were walking down the street
and the next thing I know I am talking to a woman and asking her if
she wanted to watch the video! That's not like me to do haha, I know
Heavenly Father stepped in because this woman needed this. The first
thing she said after the video was, "Where is your church? I feel like
something has been missing in my life, and I think this is it." When
we walked away I was speechless, I'm so grateful that we were put in
the right place at the right time and that He pushed me to talk to
this woman!

On Friday we were planning on going to visit a referral but we were in
a little bit of a rush to our next appointment so we decided not to go
to the referral. So we were on the bus and right as we got to the stop
we would need to get off at to visit the referral we felt like we
should go, so we ran to get off the bus before it left. And the
referral we went to visit was absolutely amazing! It was a woman named
Vanessa who had ordered a bible because she is going through a hard
time. By the time we left we had given her a Book of Mormon and she
was so grateful that we had stopped by that she hugged us both:) And
we were still able to make it to our next appointment on time!
Heavenly Father makes things happen! He can correct the mistakes we
make, and make things work out the way He needs them to- He trusts us
with a lot, but really it's Him doing the work:)

I am so excited for Easter guys! And then GENERAL CONFERENCE is next
week! Get pumped!:)

Love you,
Sister Jones🤓

It's Easter in the Bronx

Hello! Well, another week has flown by before I could even blink my eyes!

The church came out with the new video for Easter this Sunday, it's
called Hallelujah and I am SO excited about it!:) It works MIRACLES! I
have loved sharing it with people so far, and I love how this time of
year brings people so much closer to our Savior:)

Miracles of the Week!

We are still getting a lot of bible requests, it's wonderful seeing so
many people around us wanting to come closer to God like that! And we
were going to visit a few of them one night and we had 2 amazing
experiences! One of them was a woman with the 2 kids who had just
recently moved here- and she was so excited to see us when we showed
up. She invited us in and we were able to share the Hallelujah video
with her and testify of our Savior! And she said she wants to come to
church this Sunday, and we set up another time to meet with her this
week!

The other one was a woman who had ordered a Book of Mormon! I love it
when people order Book of Mormons from us:) So we stopped by and she
was shocked to see that we actually come by in person, you could tell
that it just made her day! She loved talking to us about all of the
ways that she comes closer to Christ and she was so excited to be able
to read the Book of Mormon and have us come teach her about it! I have
a strong testimony of the work that is going on in the Bronx, so many
people here need hope and I'm grateful to be part of giving that to
them!

And the next day we were going to contact another referral who had
ordered a Book of Mormon (yay:)) just out of curiosity. But as we
showed her the Hallelujah video she softened up more and she said that
she would like to meet with us to learn more!

On Sunday we had an investigator come to church! The same one from
last week:) Her and her family are progressing so much in this Gospel,
I love helping them learn more. I love it when they learn something
they didn't know before and it just makes sense to them. This Gospel
DOES make sense!:) I have a testimony of that, and my testimony is
just growing seeing other people learning that their Heavenly Father
loves them!

Another miracle that I am SUPER EXCITED ABOUT! On Monday I woke up to
like 5 emails with the best news ever! KEAUNA BAIN, from my amazing
home Ward, is joining our little family out here in New York:) I
jumped for joy when I found out! The Lord sure knows what He is doing!
New York is waiting for you Sister Bain:)

I LOVE you all! I hope you will watch the new Easter video! And then
watch it again... And again... Because that's what I do:) I am so
grateful to my Savior for the sacrifice He made for me and for all of
us! I'm so grateful we can be with our families forever, and I'm so
grateful for the hope His life brings! Have a good week:)

Love, Sister Jones🤓

Hanna didn't mention in this email, but she was got to go to the temple again on this p-day!  She sent a couple of pictures & notes later on in the day.   This is what she sent:

"Is there such thing as cute graffiti? Because I found it;) "

"Look who we ran into at the temple!:) Sister Vassau! "
(This was her MTC companion & childhood friend!)

"There is a waffle truck across the street from the temple!:) "

SPRING IS HERE!!!

Hello family:) This week has been fantastic! My first week taking over
the Bronx, it has been crazy! I am proud to say that I haven't gotten
us lost yet though! I know Heavenly Father is helping me learn this
area so I can help His children here! Also, we got to go outside
without tights on for the first time in months!:) I'm excited for
Spring in the Bronx!

Miracle of the week:

We had an investigator come to church! Sometimes it's hard for people
to find a way to church Sunday, so we don't have many people come:(
But Sunday we got a text from one of our investigators that is
working towards baptism and she said she was super excited to see us
at church! So we were pumped, we got to the chapel and texted her that
we were saving her a spot, and then we waited... And then Sacrament
Meeting was over so we went to Gospel Principles, and waited... And
she didn't show up for that either. And then we are sitting in a
Relief Society when we get a text from her that said she was waiting
outside for us! So we go and meet her and bring her into class and it
turned out awesome! Sure, she only came for the last half an hour of
church, but it was such a big step for her! Heavenly Father doesn't
ask a lot of us, all He asks is for us to do a little bit better
everyday. And I felt His love for her as I was sitting next to her in
Relief Society, I knew Heavenly Father accepted her efforts to go to
church and that He was proud of her!:) Such an amazing experience!

Funny of the week:

This is kind of funny, but it was also really amazing! We were
checking out at a store today when a woman stops us and asks us to
pray for her because she wasn't feeling very well. We get that from
people a lot and I feel so lucky to be recognized as a representative
of Jesus Christ like that! And usually people just ask us and we pray
for them in our next prayer, so that is what I was expecting when we
said yes to this woman. But the next thing I know she is bowing her
head, so Sister Spendlove and I look at each other kind of shocked,
and then we say a prayer for this woman, right here in the middle of
Burlington:) It was so unexpected haha! But I loved that, we are
always trying to be in the world but not of it, and that felt very
real with this experience!:)

I love being a missionary in the Bronx! I love being a missionary in
New York! And I just love being a missionary!:)

Love you all, have a good week:)

Taking over the Bronx!

I have a new companion! Her name is Sister Spendlove and she is so
sweet! Sister Quackenbush and I got the call Saturday night and we
were so shocked! It's been awhile since I have been shocked by a
transfer call haha!:) But Sister Quackenbush went down to Manhattan to
be with Sister Spendlove's last companion, so we just switched haha:)

It was an awesome last week with Sister Quackenbush! But the thing
that made it the best was I was finally able to go do an endowment
session at the Manhattan Temple! I didn't know how spiritually hungry
I was for the temple until it started getting closer and I felt like I
would do anything to get there:) It was the most amazing experience
going to the temple after so long! And I learned how important it is
not to spiritually starve myself by not going to the temple!

We also got to have amazing lessons with a couple of my favorite
investigators!:) We met with a mother and son Thursday night and it
had been awhile since we had seen them last so we thought they might
not be progressing as much:( But we got there and one of the first
things the mom said to us was, "when is the next baptismal service" so
we told her and she said, "I think we should do it." And my jaw hit
the ground! We didn't even need to invite them, the Spirit was just
telling her that they needed to be baptized that day, and she
listened!:)

We also met with a mother and daughter on Sister Quackenbush's last
night and we were about to leave their lesson when they said they
needed to say bye in a better way, so we said we were just on our way
to grab a little bit of dinner before we headed home and they said
they wanted to go:) And we had such a fun time! I just love little
experiences like that that let you know that not only do we care about
the people we are teaching, but that they care about us as well:)

And then, Sister Quackenbush left:) I had fun yesterday trying to
navigate the Bronx without her, I think I did pretty ok;) All I know
is that this is Heavenly Father's work, so if He needs me to be able
to navigate, I'll be able to!:) I love my mission guys, like really
it's awesome haha:) I love being able to see the Atonement work in
people, especially me!

Have a good week:)
